Did God Really Say...

To be deceived.  What does that mean?  The dictionary defines it  two ways:  1) to cause to believe what is not true; mislead 2) to give a false impression."

Back in the Garden of Eden, God gave Adam and Eve guidelines on from which trees they could eat.  Only one tree was off-limits to them.  Only one.

One day the serpent (the devil) came to Eve in the Garden and asked her, "Did God really say..."

Have you ever had this happen to you?  You have a word from God--either from His Word or one that He spoke to you specifically.

At first you are excited about it, but then as time passes, things look as if they are never going to happen the way God promised.  Then the devil pipes up and says, "Did God really say that?"

This is not a time to allow satan to get you to question what God's Word and God have said to you.

The Bible tells us  in John 8:44 that the devil is a liar and the truth is not in him.  If he is a liar and the truth is not in him, then when he asks you "Did God really say that," you can be assured that yes, God really did.

The devil is trying to deceive you just as he did Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Instead of being deceived, continue to seek God, study His Word and praise Him that He is faithful to do what He has promised.

Everything's Going To Be Okay!

Ever been in the middle of a struggle? A time in your life when nothing seems to be going right? When the bills are about due and you have no money to pay them? When your child is sick and you have no idea how to help him? When it seems like no matter how hard you try, nothing seems to turn the situation around?

We have all been there in one form or another.

And in those times, it doesn't matter to me how I arrived in that situation. It doesn't matter to me why I am there.

I am a bottomline person. I am the type of person who skips to the end of the book to make sure everything turns out okay.

I am that way in a struggle, or trial, I just want to be assured that everything is going to be okay.

"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." (Romans 8:28 NLT).

Romans 8:28 reminds me that no matter what I am going through, no matter what I am dealing with, God will somehow turn it around for good.

According to this scripture, He will cause everything to work together for good.

Now does that mean that a child dying is for our good? No. Does it mean that God brings bad things into our lives because it is for our good? No.

This means that though bad things happen in our lives, God will use those experiences to catapult us to our purpose.

He will give us a message out of our mess.

Like Joyce Meyer and Paula White, who both suffered sexual abuse as children, if you will let God, He will work on your behalf.

He will turn your life around. He will use you to be an inspiration to others who are struggling. God will use you to reach others who would otherwise never hear the Gospel.

So, chin up, child of God, your best days are yet to come.

This Too Shall Pass!

Thursday I came down with some type of virus.  By the end of the night, I was violently ill.  I had periods of time where I was fine before being sick to my stomach again. This lasted about twelve hours before I finally managed to get more than an hour or two of sleep.

It is in those times, in the troubles and trials of life, that you discover what is in you.  It is easy to speak faith-filled words when you are not sick or broke or having a problem.

It is not so easy when the pressure of bills piling up or your stomach being upset are suffocating you.  And the devil is whispering in your ear that nothing is ever going to change, that things are going to be like this forever.

But that is not true.  Everything in this earth is temporal.  It is temporary.  Nothing, except the Kingdom of God and His Word, will last forever.   This too shall pass.

Whatever you are going through, whatever you are facing, it is not forever, my friend.  It is only temporary.  God sees what is happening in your life.  He wants to help you.  If you will let Him.

You have to be willing to let go of your way of thinking, your way of doing things, and let God intervene.   He may not take care of things in your timing or in the way that you would have, but God knows better.  He can see the obstacles down the road.  He knows what is best.

You just have to trust Him to bring you through and bring you out victoriously.

Believe It!

In my email this week, I received a notice that one of my articles had been reviewed. I had never received a bad review on any of the articles I had posted on this website. In fact, all the comments up until that point had been encouraging.
