Believe It!
In my email this week, I received a notice that one of my articles had been reviewed. I had never received a bad review on any of the articles I had posted on this website. In fact, all the comments up until that point had been encouraging.
So I wasn't prepared for what I read. The comment didn't put down my writing, but it did put down what I believed about God. I believe God is true to His Word. I believe that God is healer and a God of restoration because that is what the Word of God says.
The man had let the disappointments and trauma of life cloud his judgment about God, and he believed wholeheartedly that God was showing him something other than what was in the Bible.
I took his comments to heart. I became discouraged, and I started to let what he said affect me. Was he right? Did he see something in the Word that I didn’t? I questioned my long-held beliefs, becoming disillusioned. But I came to the same conclusion I always come to: the Word said it, I believe it and that settles it.
As I said, I was discouraged. And I questioned not only my beliefs but my ability to hear God clearly. Had I really ever heard from God?
That’s exactly where the devil wanted me. He wanted me discouraged and disillusioned. He wanted to deceive me into looking at God as bad instead of good. He wanted me to question everything I believed, so I wouldn’t be focusing on doing anything for God. It was a distraction sent from the pit of hell.
So instead I prayed for the man and continued writing, continued ministering to others through the written word and in the opportunities I was presented with in my every day life. I let the devil sideline me temporarily, but I refused to let him bring me down.
And you can’t either. When the distractions of life and the devil try to knock you out, go to the Word and see what God says about what you are going through. The Word is God’s will for our lives. What it says, believe. What is doesn’t cover, take to God. Then listen for Him to answer. Remember: God is on your side. And with Him on your side, who can come against you?About The Author: Learn more about Annagail Lynes' ebooks, e-publications, e-novels, read her blog or find out about her Internet radio broadcast by visiting http://annagaillynes.latest-info.com/
