The Deciding Witness
Ever had one of those days where you wished you had stayed in bed with the covers over your head? Have you ever wished that you had never stepped foot out of bed or out of the house?
Yesterday was one of those days for me.
My neighbor has been causing trouble. I reached the point of frustration. As much as I have tried to let God handle this situation, things keep escalating. And for some reason, no one wants to believe the truth. They find the lies that she tells so much more interesting.
I have prayed about this situation over and over again...and I wondered why God wasn't working things out.
Have you ever been there?
The devil kept telling me how God wouldn't come through for me, how God didn't care, how this was the way things were going to be.
And then I heard God ask me a question, "Are you going to agree with your circumstances or my Word?"
The Bible says "'Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses'" (Matthew 18:16 and 2 Corinthians 13:1).
See, you and I are the deciding witness in our lives. We can either agree with God and His Word. Or we can agree with the devil and the lies he whispers in our ears.
Matthew 18:19 tells us that "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven."
Now, if you agree with God's Word and what God says, what He says will happen in your life. If, however, you agree with what the devil says, those things will happen in your life.
The choice really is yours. Do you believe God? Or do you believe the devil?
I don't know about you, but I choose today, and every day, to believe God.
