God didn't call us to be people of compromise concerning the things of God.

Many people are compromising the Word of God.  People are twisting it to their own advantage, to fit their own cause.

We have preachers and teachers, great men and women, falling into temptation.  Their ministries, in some cases, have become more important to them than their relationship with God.

It is becoming hard for us, as Believers, to find examples of men and women of God who are living according to the Word without compromise or who are teaching the unadulterated Word of the Living God.

I feel in my spirit that we, as the Body of Christ, need to go back to the Bible.  We need to read it for ourselves.  We should study it.  I'm not saying not to listen to good preaching and teaching, but I am saying that we need to go to the Source ourselves.  Study it for ourselves instead of just relying on what we have been taught by preachers and teachers.

Also, I believe that we need to hear God for ourselves.  We need to sit in God's presence.  We should ask Him questions and just listen.  We need to get a word from God for our lives.  We cannot rely on and put our full trust in what a human preacher or prophet tells us.  We have all encountered pastors or prophets that use their giftings for their own agenda.  If you haven't, you will.  And even good, well-meaning preachers and prophets can be wrong now and again.

We need to go to God and get a word from Him.  It will either confirm or deny what the preacher or prophet has told us.

It is essential to our walk with God that we go to the Source.  We have to learn to hear God for ourselves.  We have to discipline ourselves to read the Word.   This way we will have a solid foundation and no matter what ministry falls, we won't be affected because we will know the truth and the truth will make us free.
