Do You Know God?
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. - Proverbs 22:6 (KJV).
Raised in a Christian home, I attended church every Sunday until I turned fifteen or sixteen. At that point, I wanted no more of church or God.
I periodically checked in with God when I encountered trouble, but I kept telling myself I would worry about God later.
At twenty-three, I went through a rough patch. The people I thought would always be in my life weren't. My health finally showed signs of wear from all my years of worry (I joke that I was born worrying). And the job I thought I could always count on failed me.
I realized that I needed God. I turned back to Him after a near-death experience. For me, I knew I had been spared for a reason. So I turned to Him for good.
My mother trained me in the way of God, and later on, I returned to Him.
I left Him because I had been taught that He was a mean, judgmental God. Now I know Him as Daddy, as Saviour, as love, peace and joy.
And knowing He loves me makes all the difference. It makes any situation or trial I face that much more bearable.

Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour? Do you believe Jesus died to pay the price for your sin? That He was raised from the dead? Then just pray aloud, "Lord Jesus, I repent of all my sins. Come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour." If you believed in your heart and confessed with your mouth, you are Born-again. Let us know if you prayed this prayer.
